Blog vs Vlog – Which One Makes More Money?
Blog vs Vlog? This is a question that a lot of people who are looking to get started with some sort of online business ask. They might be thinking – do I want to do videos in a vlogging type of platform? Or, they may want to write posts and articles which would be considered blogging. The bigger question that a lot of people are asking is, “Which one makes more money?”
To be honest, some of the biggest blogs in the world like TechCrunch and Mashable are reportedly making around 2 million dollars a month. This would equate to right around 24 or 25 million dollars a year. On the other hand, some of the biggest vloggers on Youtube like PewDiePie or Logan Paul are reported to be making right about the same amount, 20 million dollars per year.
When you compare some of the top dogs in the blog vs vlog world, they're actually very, very equal. Now, the chances of you getting to that type of level are slim. However, the most important question to answer is, “What do you enjoy more?”
What Do You Enjoy More?
If you enjoy producing video content, then vlogging is going to be a great option for you. If you love writing and you're a good writer, then blogging might be the best option for you. Or, do you love doing both? I know that I enjoy both. If this is the case, then, you can blog and vlog, which is a great way to diversify your online business.
But there may not be one right answer for you. I'm won't tell you that vlogging is better than blogging. They both can be successful for you. It just all depends on which one you enjoy doing more. Because, whichever you enjoy doing more means you're going to do more for.
The number one key to success in online business, whether you're creating videos or writing, is consistency and patience. You're not going to be consistent and definitely not going to be patient if you're only doing something because it makes a lot of money.
Don't Do It Only For The Money
If you're blogging and thinking that blogging is the way to freedom and will change your life, then, you're not going to be successful. The same thing goes with videos. If you think that you need to be a YouTuber because they make a ton of money, but, you hate making, editing and posting videos, then, you're never going to be successful.
Both blogging and vlogging can make you good money but you have to have realistic expectations for yourself. Plus, you need to be prepared to work long and hard to reach your online business goals.
Don't Worry About What Others Think
I definitely recommend you start a blog or a vlog because there is so much opportunity. You might be afraid at first of what others might think of you when you're on camera or when you're writing, however, you can quickly get over that and realize that it doesn't matter what anyone else is thinking. What only matters is what you think.
Pick something that you want to do. Who cares if your friends or family will judge you. Go out there and get started. You will be so much happier chasing a dream that you actually want to achieve versus a dream that someone else wants you to achieve.
