In this post, you're going to learn my Pinterest strategy for 2018 and 2019.
Pinterest is a great platform to use to drive traffic to your blog. In my free guide, Top 3 Ways to Increase Traffic to Your Blog, I talk about using Pinterest to drive website traffic to your blog.
In this post, I'm going to walk you through my strategy and all the different ways I'm using Pinterest to increase traffic to my blog.
I only recently got into my strategy for increasing my Pinterest traffic. This is a new twist on the strategy that I teach in my free guide-it kind of builds on it a little further.
Let me walk you through some of my strategies that I'm using to increase Pinterest traffic.
#1 – Pinning to Group Boards
The number one strategy that I use (that everyone with Pinterest should be using) is Tailwind (click on this link which gives you a free month of Tailwind if you want to try it out and explore its features).
On the main screen of Tailwind, I have my schedule. These are all the pins that are going out and my scheduled pins on the other side. Let me walk you through my strategy I am using really briefly.
The first strategy that I use Board List to send my personal pins to group boards. This is a key for a lot of people because most people when they're starting out won't have a lot of Pinterest followers. You need to utilize group boards that already have followings so your pins can get seen by people.
If you don't post to group boards and you just pin on your own boards with 10 followers, then potentially only 10 people will see those pins. You can have a lot more access for your pins if you get it out there to be seen and re-pinned, if you pin to group boards.
The first 7 pins I pin everyday are my personal pins that go out to group boards. I pin different pins. All 7 are different pins which I pin to different group boards. I teach my exact strategy in my free guide that I'd recommend you to check out because it saves a ton of time. I do this once a week and it takes me about 10 minutes. I don't have to worry again about it for the rest of the week. Now I have all those scheduled out and everyday those first 7 pins in my schedule are my pins.
All of the other pins throughout the day are re-pins. You want to pin probably 20 percent of your own pins and 80 percent other people's content. You don't want to spam out only your pins. You want to make sure that you're sharing other people's content, as well. That's what I do. I pin about 30 times a day, 7 are my pins and the rest are other people's pins.
Now you know my first strategy in Pinterest- pinning to group boards.
#2 – Utilize Unlimited Tribes
The second strategy I'm using that is working really, really well is to utilize Tailwind tribes.
I'm going to let you in on a big insider's strategy tip. A lot of people won't teach you this because not a lot of people are doing it.
When you sign up for Tailwind, you'll actually have access to free tribes. You can join 5 tribes for free and you can post up to 30 pins total per month in those tribes. So, if you would create one pin and add it to all 5 of your tribes, that would actually count as 5 submissions. You get 30 per month. That's not a lot of submissions per month to get your pins out there and be seen.
My insider tip – this is a super Pinterest strategy to anyone who's serious about maximizing their Pinterest traffic- is to go unlimited with tribes.
To do that, look on the upper right section of your computer screen where it shows how many tribes you're a member of and how many submissions you have left for the month. I have unlimited tribes and unlimited submissions. Right now, I'm a member of 27 tribes.
It can be a little difficult to manage all your tribes. I'm not saying you're going to go out there and join 5000 tribes, but you can at least join a number of tribes which gives you some serious potential to increase your traffic. I'm already on the unlimited power up, so I don't have a button, but on your screen you'll see a button that will say “upgrade your power-ups.”
You will see different options for different plans based on joining like 10 tribes, 20 tribes, or having 80 submissions a month or 200. I chose unlimited. It can be a big pill to swallow up front but it will pay for itself once you're getting traffic to your blog and you are able to make more money from your blog.
I tell people all the time that money invested in your blog or business is money invested and not money wasted.
Everything you're doing to build your business, you have to think of it as an investment that will give you a return. You're doing this to increase traffic to your website because more traffic will help you make more money. Everything has a price and, in my opinion, it is one hundred percent worth it.
What this unlimited tribe is doing for me
On the upper left side of my screen it shows my account and a list of all the new tribes that I've joined since upgrading to unlimited. I have all these submissions (as well as the number of pins I've shared) so I'm keeping pace here with all the different tribes. I want to tell you the nice thing about going unlimited.
Just in one tribe, I've submitted 22 of my pins and have received a lot of re-pins. If I were to click on one of the photos, I can see all of the re-shares. You will see all of the re-shares as well as the potential impressions. In just one particular tribe I reached 11,000 impressions!
I would not get 11,000 impressions if I was just pinning to my own boards because I only have like 500 followers. But, with tribes, I'm getting 11,000 impressions on that one pin… which equals more clicks. I can click any of my photos and see how many people are sharing, have them scheduled and published, and see new red boxes.
I have one pin in particular that has received an absurd amount of potential impressions-205,000! I would not get that many impressions anywhere else. All of these different re-pins and I can get to any one of these groups and see my pins. Right now I have 37 new re-shares. When I come back tomorrow, that number is going to say 40 new re-shares. Everyday this is happening in every single one of these tribes!
If you look at the pins, all those new red boxes bring happiness to my life. One photo, for example, has 12 new re-shares and 588,000 impressions. These people are pinning this pin to their boards.
This is the amazing power of Tailwind tribes and the amazing power of going unlimited means that you can submit as many pins as you want. I've already shared 34 pins in one tribe which would be my limit for the month in all the tribes in a free plan.
With unlimited, I can share as many pins as I want. I've got all these tribes and I'm just submitting pins every single day. It boosts the traffic to and within my blog. For example, in one of my photos, there are 21 new re-pins and 105,000 impressions. This in every tribe guys!
Every one of these tribes is like that. From every one of these tribes, I'm getting a massive amount of re-pins from submitting my pins.
On Tailwind I can see my all my own pins which all go to my website. People are pinning them. People are sharing them. It's skyrocketing traffic to my blog!
That is the power of Tailwind. That is my Pinterest strategy for 2018 and 2019. I'm scheduling my pins out to group boards. I'm repinning other people's content. And I'm utilizing unlimited tribes on Tailwind because it is an absolute game changer.
If you want to try out the free Tailwind tribes, go for it, but if you're serious about really skyrocketing traffic to your blog through Tailwind tribes, you're going to want to check out the unlimited tribes membership. I'm getting so many re-pins every single day from doing this. It is seriously amazing.
Click here for a free month of Tailwind. This is the benefit for both of us. It gives you a free month of Tailwind and helps me get a free month of Tailwind. So, it's awesome for both of us!
Seriously consider upgrading your Tailwind tribes because it is an absolute game changer when it comes to boosting traffic to your Pinterest.
